Building Process
Building a home, even if it's an ADU, can feel like a daunting process. At All Wood ADU, our goal is to alleviate common stressors and that starts by knowing what to expect.
Phases
Phase 0
Phase 0 is the pre-building phase. During this phase, we will come assess your property, discuss your ADU vision, goals and purpose, and produce a plan which includes size, cost, design, and timeline.
Phase 1
Phase 1 is silently boring. This phase begins once the details are in place, contracts are signed and permits (if any) are being pulled. This phase typically takes anywhere from 3-6 months.
Phase 2
Phase 2 is a welcomed breath of excitement. It feels like the project is finally underway. During this phase, property changes are completed, building materials are delivered, and a schedule of contractors is determined. This phase is typically 1-2 weeks.
Phase 3
Phase 3 is ACTIVE. During this phase you can expect the movement of contractors as you watch your dream ADU come to life. This phase consists of the framing, roofing, siding, flooring, hardware installation and eveyrthing in-between. There are typically 2-4 inspections during the process to ensure safety & quality of the build. This phase typically takes 12 weeks depending on the size of your ADU.
Phase 4
Phase 4 is Amanda's favorite. If you are building one of our signature models, you'll see her around. She puts the final (meaningful) touches on the interior, including your towel warmer*, voice activated window shades*, and does her own little energy blessing for your new space. Expect her around for about 2 weeks.
Phase 5
Phase 5 is deemed the bittersweet, yet long awaited end to your ADU build. There will be a final professional inspection, we take some photos of the completed project, do a final walk through with you, and hand you the keys!
